Accountant Senior – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company – Akron

Position Description
This open position works directly with consumer manufacturing plants and their monthly reporting and closing functions and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy & integrity of North American Tire’s consolidated financial statements for both internal & external reporting. This includes month end closing routines for inter-company consolidation, inventory valuation, customer sales programs, benefit accounting, revenue recognition, budget vs. actual analysis, cash flow analysis & balance sheet analytics.

Principal Responsibilities
Complete detail level of support to Procurement business (category managers & leads) & supply chain for supplier’s data research (volume purchases, team, products & working capital).
Provide & support all assigned periodic reports & information in accordance with deadlines and within required timeline & SOX quarterly reviewed documents.
Create analytical analyses for internal senior/executive management.
Creation &/or support of 10_KQ disclosures.
Documentation, testing & review of Corporate SOX.

Required Experience And Education
Undergraduate Degree in accounting, finance or other business field.
CPA &/or MBA or other advanced Degree desired
2 years of accounting, auditing &/or financial analysis experience (preferably in a large corporate or manufacturing organization or public accounting firm).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products, SAP & Hyperion Essbase.
Interpersonal skills that establish & maintain excellent relationships & credibility quickly.
Ability to support accounting/finance decisions with logical evidence & persuasively present position.
Understanding of US GAAP, accounting for complex transactions & familiarity with internal controls in compliance with SOX.
Good presentation & communication skills, both verbal & written.
