Job Purpose:
To assist the Finance Manager in maintaining sound financial systems, policies and procedures, petty cash management, placing payment requests and inputting data to the system and other day to day operations to ensure appropriate and cost effective use of FilmAid financial resources.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:-
 Assists the Finance Manager in maintaining and implementing effective internal controls and appropriate financial systems, policies and procedures.  Disburses cash for expenditures in accordance with approved purchase requests and in coordination with other departments.  Receiving and placing payment requests for cash and cheques transactions, ensuring that they have proper documentation, facilitates authorization and approval.  Document all financial transactions by ensuring every financial transaction is well supported with appropriate documents, well recorded and files are properly maintained.
 Coding and preparing necessary payment and journal vouchers, passing them into Quickbooks upon Finance Manager’s approval and assist the Finance Officers in posting field month returns as necessary.
 Prompt filing of vouchers, journals and other relevant procurement and financial supporting documents that track financial transactions to ensure an efficient filing system.
 Maintaining the financial records, making payments, maintaining reconciled petty cash and bank accounts and producing basic financial reports as necessary.  Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor in the course of the work.

Qualifications and Requirements:
 Qualification in certified public accounts (CPA) level II or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
 Currently pursuing Degree in Accounting or Finance  Diploma in Business Administration, CPA II (sect 3 & 4) or equivalent qualifications  At least 2 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in the field of finance, accounting and/or other related field with cash management experience;
 Experience utilizing computers, including word processing, spread sheet and other accounting standard software packages and systems.

Competencies:
 Excellent communication skills;  Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);  Good team player and good organizational skills;  Accuracy and keen to details  Must be proficient in using Quick books accounting software package
