II. Organizational Context and Scope
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.
IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the general supervision of the National Finance Officer and direct supervision of Senior Finance Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for:-
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in computing travel claims and staff imprest accounts and check supporting documentation provided.
Assist in maintaining a register of all receipt books and office supplies for Finance Unit.
Assist in preparing bank reconciliation and other month end accounts closure processes.
Assist in preparing and dispatching monthly accounts to Manila after the documents are reviewed by Senior Finance Assistant.
Assist in maintaining a filing system and ensure proper custody and tracking of finance documents i.e vouchers and bank and other correspondences.
Assist in invoicing staff for private use of IOM resources such as vehicles, telephone and charter flights and to follow up on payment.
Assist in registering Travel Authorizations and maintain and update the TA register.
Assist in preparing payment summaries for service provider invoices.
Assist with analyzing receipt summaries for Medical Self Payers projects.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

V. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or any other related field.
Qualified CPA 2.
Computer literacy including proficiency in MS Office applications; knowledge of other IT packages and their implementation is an advantage.
Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, creative thinking, organized, accurate.
Ability to work effectively with different levels within and outside the organization and with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
Ability to pay attention to details, to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Prior experience in a busy finance unit is desirable but not essential.
Must have a Certificate of good conduct.
VI. Personal Development: The incumbent will acquire technical knowledge in the Finance Unit and acquire understanding on policies and procedures associated with Finance operations from an international organization’s perspective and will gain insight experience in working in an international, multicultural environment with an intergovernmental organization.
VI. Languages Required: Fluency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
