Primary Responsibility: Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be expected to provide leadership in Finance, Accounting and Treasury affairs, formulate and implement sound financial policies that will ensure the SACCO remains financially viable whilst meeting its strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Overall management of the Finance department as well as interfacing with other departments.
Ensuring proper use of the SACCO’s financial resources by reviewing, developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to achieve SACCO’s strategic objectives
Coordinating the budgeting and planning process including forecasting.
Cash flow planning and management.
Managing the taxation affairs of the SACCO
Oversee payments to suppliers, employees and other business parties.
Preparation of timely management accounts and financial reports.
Preparation of annual financial statements and overseeing external audit process.
Maintain financial records in accordance with statutory requirements
Coach, supervise, appraise, train and develop staff in the finance department.
Prepare financial and management reports to aid management decision making.
Ensuring compliance with all financial regulatory and statutory requirements.
Monitoring revenue and expenditures, making recommendations and overseeing the implementation of appropriate action plans to ensure sound financial management
Develop and maintain assets register
Experience, Knowledge and Abilities
The applicants for this position must have at least Five years’ of working experience in similar position, must be team players with excellent leadership, analytical, communication and decision making skills and should demonstrate ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance, CPA (K) and a member of ICPAK.
The applicants must be proficient in all MS Office applications and have practical knowledge of accounting software
