The Head- Remedial Management position is the perfect opportunity for you to make valuable contributions within the Bank.
Reporting to Director – Credit Management Division, the role holder will be responsible for enhancing the profitability of the Bank by reducing credit losses and keep Management informed of risks that affect profitability in the lending and collection areas.
The Role
The successful jobholder will be expected to:
Maximize on loan recoveries and write backs to Profit & Loss accounts from the non-performing portfolio through aggressive direct recoveries/viable restructuring/negotiating workflows or realization of securities.
Provide leadership to a team of dedicated remedial management staff by setting challenging and granular objectives, monitoring individual daily activities, motivating, training/coaching and supporting to ensure achievement of allocated targets.
Develop differentiated calling scripts and decision trees to guide remedial management staff and facilitate effective escalation between channels.
Develop a menu of recovery products based on agreed borrower profiles to aid in restructuring of delinquent accounts and reduction of Non-Performing Loan exposure.
Ensure compliance with Bank credit policy and Central Bank of Kenya Prudential Guidelines on loan reclassification and ensure adequate levels of provisions on Non-Performing Loans in accordance with the CBK Prudential Guidelines
Formulate recovery strategies, action plans and supervise implementation for expedited closure.
Ensure Management of non-performing debts to prevent further deterioration and maintain Non-Performing Loans to loan ratios below the industry
Take –over management of all non-performing accounts from all branches/business and control specific provisions within the budget.
Facilitate the application of various remedial solutions/product offerings to delinquent accounts based on customer profiling and/or customer segment.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications:-
Degree in a Business related course with a minimum of 5 years’ Lending experience
Diploma in Banking e.g. AKIB/ACIB or CPA
Good presentation, risk analysis and financial analysis skills as well as be an excellent communicator with ability to set and meet stretch targets and strict deadline
Knowledge of Bank’s lending policies and procedures as well as Central Bank of Kenya Prudential Guidelines and Banking Act.
Excellent understanding of financial statements and credit products of the Bank
Should possess good knowledge of the bank’s credit products as well as detailed knowledge of Auctioneers Act, Land Act 2012 & CRB Regulation 2013 and litigation and Insolvency laws.
