The Project Business Development Officer (PBDO) will be responsible for supporting implementation of Recycling Coffee project activities. S/he will support implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all project activities and enhance networking with stakeholders within the project area. S/he will provide necessary business related training, conduct after training follow-up mentoring visits and provide technical guidance to targeted youth and women with the aim of establishing successful briquette and mushroom businesses.
DUTIES
• Identify and facilitate registration of 15 business oriented briquette production groups.
• Identify and facilitate registration of 30 mushroom producer groups.
• Inculcate a market oriented approach among the targeted briquette and mushroom groups with a view to influence the beneficiaries’ attitude towards a business mindset.
• Identify new markets and market solutions to gaps in quantity, quality, packaging, transport, etc.
• Train and mentor beneficiaries on business development and entrepreneur skills.
• Develop and support role model briquette and mushroom businesses.
• Participate in negotiation between project beneficiaries and private sector market/suppliers
• Project monitoring and Reporting on project implementation
• Be available to provide daily/timely support to established business /targeted groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
• The job holder must have at a Degree in Agriculture Economics, Business Development, Economic Development and other related courses from a recognized University with at least two years’ experience
• Experience working with NGOs and Knowledge of the local language will be an added advantage.
• Ability and willingness to work in the community; should be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Private sector work experience is an added advantage
• A good communicator who is willing and able to work as an active member of the team.
• Enterprising, self-driven with ability to work with minimum supervision.
