Cellulant* is a digital payments business. We are building an ecosystem of consumers, merchants and banks in which we facilitate payments and build value through the value-added services we layer on top. In building this ecosystem we serve different types of customers with different products; including mobile banking, mobile payment and mobile credit products. We are currently serving merchants, banks and mobile network operators across 10 countries.
Our true competitive advantage lies in the ecosystem we are building – if we execute as planned over the next few years, it will be the glue* that will connect everyone to everything – every consumer to every business.
We will glue together hundreds of thousands of businesses to an increasingly significant number of mobile consumers. We will address 300M with 100M of them actively transacting per month.

Global Market Analyst.
To keep Cellulant* Group and Country management informed about growth opportunities in existing and new markets. To measure market development and Cellulant’s position in the various markets in which it operates.
Responsibilities:
1. Market Monitoring and Approach; Monitoring and interpreting industry trends including those related to competitors, regulators, partners, and customers.
a) Formulating market and segment entry approaches (timing and process) for new and existing countries.
b) Identifying and tracking core industry metrics & benchmarking Cellulant’s performance against these
c) Assisting Country Management Teams in influencing / driving the digital commerce landscape [e.g. through active engagements with industry associations / lobbies].
2. Opportunity Sizing and Creation;
a) Sizing & segmenting the payments market across the continent – to identify the ‘basket items’ with the highest revenue potential for Cellulant
b) Merchant market drilldown – to assist in identifying the high value merchants in each ‘basket item’
c) Identifying the most lucrative segments / sectors / themes to be in – based on where we can minimize / eliminate consumer pain points and add most value
d) Developing opportunities (identified from market monitoring and sizing) into initiatives in the Business Development pipeline e.g. Cashless fare, Government payments
3. Strategic Business Partnerships – the Partner Pipeline and Internal Initiatives;
a) Identifying the gaps we have in our product mix/market positioning and determine possible strategic partners who can enable us to fill these gaps either tactically to meet an immediate need or as a long-term solution.
b) Identifying market risks, relating them to Cellulant’s position/plans and developing mitigation strategies.
c) Initiating and actively supporting internal business initiatives that will improve Cellulant’s market position.
4. Ad hoc analysis and research.

Required skills:
• A Self Driven Individual: Be able to build excitement, and motivate people to support your agenda, open customer relationships and drive demand for Cellulants services
• Sales-proficient: Experience in selling new concepts and products, both internally to get the organisation excited, and externally to clients
• Analytical: The market changes quickly, if it changes too much, you´ll need to lead the pivot that alters our approach to the problem
• Communicative: it is crucial to communicate well at different levels in the organisation
• Product-Passionate: An interest in product, and in moving closer step by step to an ambitious vision
• Flexible: and able to work on various products and clients at the same time while not dropping balls. The nature of the business means a lot changes fast, and it is crucial to maintain the pace towards the long-term once this happens
• High trust: respect others, not territorial , completely transparent, a person with complete integrity
