General Purpose of the Job
The Catering Assistant is responsible for cleaning of the kitchen and utensils for effective and efficient running of the kitchen.
Responsible for quality food preparation and serving
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the cateress to achieve minimum cost through the control of food wastage
Serving of meals and ensuring correct portion control
Handling and operating kitchen equipments with care to avoid accidents and damages to these and personal injuries.
Ensuring the highest standards of hygiene are achieved in all areas of the kitchen as personal grooming standards
Helping with room preparations for meetings and ensuring that they are clean, prepared, and labeled correctly for ease of identification
Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
Ability to work outside their regular scheduled hours, to be available for emergency and/or prearranged work
Ability to perform duties involving prolonged standing,
Competent and personable
High degree of personal drive and motivation
Ability to work calmly work under pressure
Ability to work well as a member of a team
Qualifications
Should be over 30 years of age
Must be born again and committed to Christian Faith
Qualifications in food handling
A minimum of 3 years experience at the executive level in a busy organization.
