Duties and Responsibilities
Production of multimedia digital assets to support online learning;
Production of multimedia animations across various formats;
Design appropriate media to support lecturers teaching online;
Develop derivative products such as social media infographics, GIFs, and banners;
Assist with digital retouching and image production;
Select appropriate layouts for products in coordination with the university’s corporate communications team;
Provide proofs to ensure product quality prior to printing and/or publication;
Ensure the communication materials produced have the desired impact on the target audience;
Ensure materials compliance with 508 compliance requirements for visually impaired readership;
Develop publication layouts for online-friendly format(s);
Liaise with printing services to ensure high quality printing of above mentioned publications: and
Other graphic design support as needed.
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in Education or Information Science, with strong showing in Educational Technology, Media practical and Computer use;
Have experience in conducting trainings on social media content development;
Have knowledge of graphic fundamentals, typography, print, layouts, and web design; and
Have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other design software.
Key competencies
Excellent communication skills;
Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines;
Effective problem solving skills; and
Use of tools such as Adobe-InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Corel draw, Adobe Flash & Canvas.
Knowledge of Blender will be an added advantage.
