HIV& AIDS / TB Technical Advisor – Nairobi – Christian Health Association of Kenya

Reporting lines:
Reports directly to the COP AFYA Jijini for the day today project activities ‐ (Nairobi)
Reports to CHAK Head of Health Services

Responsibilities:
Programmatic
The holder of the position will be responsible for the overall implementation of the HIV&AIDS/TB/eMTCT, RMNCH/FP, nutrition and WASH activities of the AFYA Jijini project in Nairobi.

You will be required to:
Offer technical support to the clinical services specialist and their implementing teams
Undertake work planning and budgeting for all project areas
Oversee the implementation of activities in HIV&AIDS/TB, RMNCH/FP, nutrition and WASH
Work with M&E Technical Advisor ensure that M&E support systems are in place to ensure data and information flow is efficient and informs programmatic and service delivery decision making and also ensure that programme reports are timely, accurate, informative and comply with both donor and county specifications
Strengthen the integrative approach to HIV/TB/ eMTCT and RMNCH/FP services and activities in all the eight sub‐counties supported by the project

People
The position is responsible for the four project implementation teams with a total of four doctors, four M&E program officers, and four social support and linkage officers.
They will backed up by one laboratory services and technology technician and one nutrition and WASH officer.
The holder of the position will offer technical guidance and supervise the team to ensure that they deliver on the CHAK’s mandate.
Financial responsibilities
The position will be responsible for planning and budget making.
S/he will authorize costs of activities arising out project implementation.
He will ensure that staff account for the project implementation financial expenditure on time.
Partnerships and networking.

The position is responsible for representing both AFYA Jijini and CHAK in county and national forums with decorum.

This include representation at meetings, conferences and partnerships at both community, county and national level.

County health management team

National level health agencies

Qualifications
Must be a qualified medical doctors
Other qualifications:
Master of Public Health,
Master Medicine/OBGY
Qualifications in HIV/AIDS/TB is an additional advantage

Experience
At least five years of technical leadership in a large HIV/AIDS/TB and RMNCH/PF project
Minimum of five years of programmatic leadership in large health projects including HIV&AIDS, TB and RMNCH/FP
Handled work programme and budgeting of similar projects
