The African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) is an international not-for-profit organisation that facilitates, and promotes public / private partnerships to access, develop, adapt and deliver appropriate agricultural technologies for sustainable use by smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director Finance and Administration the Information Systems Officer will provide support in the execution of ICT and Data Management services of AATF projects and other institutional activities and provide the primary link with ILRI (ICT service provider) ICT in managing the Foundations information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables.
Process large amounts of data for statistical modelling and graphic analysis, using computers.
Identify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research.
Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data.
Evaluate sources of information to determine any limitations in terms of reliability or usability.
In liaison with ICT service provider, provide IT technical and software support for all Foundation staff (head office and out stations) and visiting partners, including diagnosis and resolution of ICT user challenges.
In liaison with the ICT service provider ensure that Foundation servers are functioning properly and that all applications on the servers are running appropriately and a functional backup and recovery system is institutionalised for all applications’ folders and databases.
Implement a backup and recovery system for all staff desktops and laptops.
Keep a database of licence keys for all institutional software, ensuring all the software used within and by Foundation staff is legally acquired.
Advice on appropriate technical specifications before acquisition of any IT or IT-related equipment.

Qualifications:
Suitable candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/information systems or
equivalent.
Certification as a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE/ MCITP) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Candidates must also have at least 3 years’ experience in a busy information management environment; fluency in written and spoken English.
Working knowledge of French is an added advantage.

The employment contract is for an initial period of 2 years, renewable subject to performance and availability of funding.
