The National Team Coordinator – Resource Mobilisation supports DSW Kenya secure and diversify its resource base in order to achieve its goals in line with the organizational strategic plan.
Reporting to the Programmes & Projects Manager, the Resource Mobilisation coordinator will be in-charge of resource mobilization activities, including but not limited to identification of funding opportunities and proposal development in the DSW Kenya Country Office.
S/he will work closely with the Country Director and the DSW Project Staff.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop innovative approaches in mobilizing resources for the organization
Initiate and establish relationships with donors at the country and international level and lead in programmes that will facilitate this
Research and analyse donor calls for proposals including Expressions of Interest
Identify funding trends and opportunities and maintain strong awareness of current issues in the field of development
Identify proposal teams, outlining roles and responsibilities for each team member, oversee preparation of proposals, ensuring that proposals meet donor specifications and deadlines as well as DSW’s quality standards and manage consortia arrangements with partners for programme design and proposal development
Support in developing of key messages for targeted resource mobilization activities
Provide technical support and advice on grant proposal development to the programme team members
Track and make follow-ups on status of submitted proposals.
Minimum Requirements
University degree in Development studies, or related field. A Masters degree is desirable
Proven track record in resource mobilization at local and international levels with minimum five years of relevant professional experience in a multi-national and multi-donor environment
Exceptional English writing and editing ability (both technical as well as persuasive and diplomatic writing) is required
Excellent computer skills and knowledge; use of virtual office applications is an added advantage
Good budgeting skills and use of advanced Excel
Excellent networking and partnership building skills
Demonstrable knowledge in project management
Dynamic, self-motivated, team player with ability to work independently
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and ability to foster open communication
