REPORTS TO: ICT MANAGER
The Web & Network Administrator is to offer technical support, monitor, and maintain the computer systems and networks of HWWK. To install and configure computer systems, web servers and networking devices. Diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical/applications problems, either over the phone or in person.
Major Responsibilities:
Development/management of HWWK’s website and web portals;
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems (server and client) and applications, building network topologies;
Review and apply innovative technologies for existing social media and follow through the trend of future application;
Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses;
Hands-on experience in networking, routing and switching
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
Taking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to ICT Manager or vendors, if appropriate);
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
Updates the IT fixed asset register
Preparing monthly reports and budgets;
Minimum Educational level required:
Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field
Experience:
Previous working experience with computer systems is a MUST
At least Three (3) years of working experience in the field of networking and web administration.
Strong command of a web server application through CPanel and Content Management Systems (CMS).
Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure, and topologies.
Technical Training qualifications to support the application:
Microsoft Qualification i.e. MCP or MCSA is desirable.
Web development certification
Online Security certification
Skills
Good communication skills and articulate both verbally and in the written word;
Ability to relate technical issues to Project objectives;
Expertise with web servers i.e. Apache, Apache TomCat, IIS, and Nginx
Working knowledge of Programming language e.g. C# or PHP, JavaScript with MySQL or MS-SQL is desirable
Server Load balancing
Reverse proxy configurations
Knowledge of security for applications, networks, and operating systems e.g. PFSense Firewall, VPN, Encryptions
Graphic design skills using open source tools will be an added advantage
