Job Description
Responsibilities Include
We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the dairy products industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Plant Engineer to their team.
Perform a broad range of moderately complex engineering work
Articulate ideas and thoughts and respond on standard engineering issues
Develop and complete tasks and projects in a timely manner within budgets
Apply engineering principles to identify, analyze and resolve straightforward problems
Provide leadership for the optimization of manufacturing processes
Perform assigned tasks of larger projects
Provide input on process equipment, tools and techniques
Design, develop and implement new products, processes, test methods and equipment
Provide technical support on components, methods, systems and equipment
Conduct engineering studies for process improvement and validations
Develop physical and functional test requirements to ensure that specifications and regulations are met
Support and coordinate implementation of engineering-related improvements
Define scope and overall management of projects
Identify and coordinate with the Procurement Team for the purchase and delivery of project components and equipment necessary for implementation of projects
Examine, review and approve documents, such as purchase orders, blueprint designs and specifications
Direct work and activities of suppliers, contractors, consultants and designers, as required
Prepare capital requests and justifications for improvement projects
Support manufacturing operations in optimization of performances regarding facilities
Develop, assess and implement techniques to maximize efficiencies of operations
Work with the Facility Management to assess business needs
Identify, define and measure improvement opportunities for assigned projects
Oversee the continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes
Participate in continuous improvement and minor capital projects
Identify, design and implement reliability improvements focused on increased equipment availability and reduced life-cycle cost
Provide engineering design, technical input and evaluate facility projects
Collaborate with Production departments on resolution of issues concerning facilities and equipment
Liaise with the Maintenance Team to design and layout plant preventative maintenance and repair work
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local codes
Participate in professional organizations to maintain knowledge of technical innovations

Qualifications And Desired Skills
A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
Recent experience in the dairy products industry is strongly preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in plant engineering
