To performs routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment.
To install active solar systems, including pumps.
Assemble solar arrays, panels, or support structures, as specified.
To activate photovoltaic (PV) systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations.
Check electrical installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding, or integrity of terminations.
Identify installation locations with proper orientation, area, solar access, or structural integrity for photovoltaic (PV) arrays.
Test operating voltages to ensure operation within acceptable limits for power conditioning equipment, such as controllers
Identify methods for laying out, orienting, and mounting modules or arrays to ensure efficient installation, electrical configuration, or system maintenance.
Determine photovoltaic (PV) system designs or configurations based on factors such as customer needs, expectations, and site conditions.
Install required labels on solar system components and hardware.
Supervise practical tests giving key results which feed into design iteration.
Have a particular role in numerical analysis of strength and performance

Qualifications and Experience
Final year graduate Engineer.
Mechatronic / Electrical and Electronic Engineering / solar / Energy and Renewables background.
Skills and Behaviour
Design work should result in products which meet all the strength, durability, cost, ergonomics, and other criteria defined by design criteria approval which has been facilitated by the product manager function.
Identify electrical, environmental, and safety hazards associated with photovoltaic (PV) installations.
Work carried out in the workshop should be supervised to standards of craftsmanship which meet or exceed accuracy and tolerances achievable by downstream manufacturing.
Test standards for solar pumps should be rigorous, efficient, and unambiguous so as neither to lower KickStart’s high organizational standards nor to use excessive staff time through redundant operations.
Supervision of material provision and usage should be carried out to optimise KickStart’s cash efficiency, and prevent time loss through absence of critical materials.
He/she is sensitive, during the course of development, to the feelings and opinions of potential users of the technology, and proactively cultivates relationships which allow these opinions to be transmitted.
The incumbent should cooperate with the PID Manager and the workshop team to ensure nationally legislated standards of safety are met or exceeded
