Agronomist – Kitui – European Committee for Agricultural Training

Responsibilities and duties
• Organize and supervise the agricultural (sorghum and green gram value chain), horticultural production, and the beekeeping sector;
• Organize and supervise the implementation of training activities;
• Participate in the organization, supervision and development of supply chains and relationships with the markets;
• Manage the budget for an effective sound management of economic resources;
• Provide sustained training to local Project staff;
• Participate in the design and preparation of project proposals in the areas of food security, environment, and nutrition.
• Any other duties that might be required for the position

Skills & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or related field;
• Professional experience: at least 3 years of relevant experience as Agronomist in rural development sector in developing countries, preferably in Kitui County;
• Languages required: English (excellent written and spoken), knowledge of kikamba is preferable
• Computer skills: excellent computer skills.

• Staff management skills;
• Ability to work in multicultural environments, and to adapt and work in difficult situations.
