Assistant Program Manager – Kakuma – Water Sanitation Hygiene

IsraAID, an Israeli international humanitarian aid organization is looking for a assistant program manager in MHM and Livelihoods to work in Kakuma refugee camp.
IsraAID, an Israel-based non-governmental humanitarian aid agency, is looking for a motivated and flexible Assistant Program Manager to assist in the management and implementation of a new menstrual hygiene management (MHM) education and livelihoods program in Kakuma refugee camp and town, Turkana, Kenya.
The job requires relocation to Kakuma, Kenya.

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
1. Advanced educational background in science and/or water/environmental/agricultural engineering/Water technician diploma.
2. Be legally employable in Kenya.
3. Proven experience in teaching/facilitation
4. Excellent English, both written and spoken.
Strong interpersonal and team skills, management experience preferred.

Preferred qualifications, skills and experience:
1. Background in WASH
2. Experience working in non-profit organizations.
3. Experience working in the international sphere.
4. Experience with teaching and/ or training.
5. Experience working in the water industry, arid areas preferable

Reporting to the WASH Program Manager and Field Coordinator, the position includes but is not limited to:
1. Coordinating the implementation of training programs in the field MHM and livelihoods in and around a refugee camp in Kenya in tandem with IsraAID’s Kakuma WASH Program Manager, Programs Director and Kenya Country Director.
2. Supervising and driving development of IsraAID’s MHM/ Livelihoods Program.
3. Training beneficiaries in MHM, behavior change communication, sales and marketing.
4. Supervising the program’s community outreach activities.
5. Participating in and supervising day to day MHM/Livelihoods program activities and operations.
6. Managing logistics, coordinating supply inventory, and general administration of an MHM training/ livelihood project.
7. Coordination with camp partners in SGBV, WASH, and Livelihoods sectors, as needed
8. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on MHM/Livelihoods project.
9. Step into leading new MHM projects and partnerships as they arise in the course of the contract.
10. Development and execution of sales and distribution strategies
11. Training and working with sales team to achieve set targets
12. Internal and external reporting

Hiring Conditions:
1. Relocating to Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
2. IsraAID will cover living expenses while in Kakuma including accommodation, travels and food related to the employment.
3. 5.5 working days weekly. 5 days off (R&R) every 8 weeks.
4. 7 month contract, with a 3 month probationary period, opportunity for extension based on performance and funding.
5. This is a paid position.
