PAD (www.padinst.org/) is a young, dynamic organization working to empower youth as catalysts for social change through economic empowerment and community leadership. We identify groups of vulnerable young women and men with a micro-enterprise and a social impact activity and help them scale. Job Description
PAD is seeking a full-time visionary County Business Development Advisor to spearhead the scaling of youth enterprises in Nakuru. The County Business Development Advisor will work closely with PAD’s Program Officer and be responsible for training PAD’s youth partners in business skills, providing strategic business advice, and representing PAD to high-level stakeholders. The duration of the contract will be for one year with possible extension pending successful implementation.
Responsibilities

• Work closely with PAD’s Program Officer to identify youth business needs and solutions
• Train PAD youth entrepreneurs through structured workshops and need-based consulting
• Test, iterate, and write a training curriculum to teach business skills to grassroots youth
• Build relationships with local government authorities and potential partners
• Conduct leadership and community engagement trainings
• Conduct on-the-ground logistical arrangements as needed
• Collect data as needed for PAD’s monitoring and evaluation

Qualifications
• Relevant Bachelors Degree or higher in agriculture, business administration, or commerce (tertiary qualification preferred).
• 6+ years of private sector experience, preference given to agribusiness and entrepreneurial ventures. Experience in non-profits with market-based solutions to development accepted.
• Excellent understanding of businessfinance , marketing, supply chain operations, management, and value-addition.
• Commitment to peace, youth economic empowerment, and community development, with an understanding that true development comes from local solutions and local knowledge.
• Strong conflict resolution and decision making skills.
• Previous teaching, training, or facilitation experience preferred; Community leadership experience an advantage.
