You will help engineer the website that powers East Africa’s premier online food delivery service from start-up to scale.

Consultant Title: Business Development Executive, 3-month consultancy
Job Location: Piedmont Plaza, Ngong Road, Nairobi – Please note the position is field based
Office Hours: 40 hrs/week (9:00am – 5:00pm Mon –Fri.)
Monthly Consultant fee: 20,000 Ksh + attractive commissions

Organization Description
Our client is Nairobi’s premier online food delivery service. They are the market leaders in East Africa in terms of online food ordering and delivery and are growing and expanding quickly.
They allow customers to go online and, in three simple steps, order food from their favorite restaurant in Nairobi. They work with restaurants to get their menus online and charge a service fee for delivering their food to a new customer base. Finally, they have a network of motorcycle drivers who pick-up the food from the restaurant and delivers to their customers.
The main responsibility of the Business Development Executive Consultant will be to approach restaurants and get them to sign up as our client’s partner. There are many ways in which our client works with restaurant partners, so the consultants will need to be well-prepared to discuss and negotiate any kind of scenario for the company.

Commission
For each restaurant the field agent signs up, the agent will earn a commission. Please note that the restaurant must go live on the website before commission is earned. The amount of commission is earned based on the tier of the restaurant and the potential profit that the client could earn by working with the restaurant. All restaurants are rated by the CEO prior to the consultant approaching the restaurant, so there is no miscommunication in regards to the commission earnable.
Consultants will be asked to help upload the restaurant menus onto the website as a way of decreasing the time from signup to going live with the client.

Restaurant Tiers Commission
Tier 1 – very high-profile restaurant in Nairobi. Well-known as one of the best restaurants in the city, or already has a huge delivery service. E.g. Steers, Open House, Talisman 3,000 Ksh
Tier 2 – good quality, popular neighborhood restaurants that will do well with delivery. E.g. Chinese food, pizza, Thai, sushi, Indian… 1,500 Ksh
Tier 3 – restaurants that have approached us and would like to work with us. 850 Ksh
Tier 4 – specialty supermarkets, bakeries, or liquor stores. 600 Ksh

Benefits
All consultants will be given a phone and credit to use for the duration of their work. In addition, all matatu and bus fares will be reimbursed by the company.

Qualifications
• Ability to sell the service to Nairobi restaurants in a way that increases value for the restaurant and the company.
• Ability to understand and successfully represent the core business of the company to restaurant partners and help restaurant partners understand how the service will benefit their business.
• Ability to negotiate successfully on behalf of the company
• Must have some face-to-face sales experience
• Must have persistence in problem-solving; i.e. there is always a solution, we just need to find it
• University degree in a relevant field
• Excellent verbal and written skills, diplomacy in practice, and respect.
• Must be somewhat flexible with working hours and consultant duties.

Duration
This consultancy is for the duration of three months from the start date. No future employment is guaranteed.
