Are you an outstanding leader able to lead a team of strong individuals to deliver high impact campaigns in Somalia?

Oxfam is looking for an outstanding individual to be our new Campaigns and Policy manager for Somalia.

You will work at a senior level to lead Oxfam’s campaigning on Somalia nationally and internationally, and support ongoing development of our governance programme.

Oxfam Somalia has an outstanding reputation as the leading advocate for Somalis both inside and outside Oxfam and we need you to continue to develop this further, ensuring impact for Somali people.

The Role
You will be expected to lead the development and delivery of Oxfam Somalia’s influencing work.

Leading areas as varied as advocacy and lobbying, media and communications, women’s rights and youth programming, capacity building and popular campaigning, you will ensure the team continues to deliver change for the lives of Somalis.

Your will be informed by the initiatives and ideas of our Somali partners, and the desires and needs of Somali communities and individuals.

You will work as a senior member of the Somalia team, providing strategic direction and ensuring that all elements of Oxfam’s programme contributes to the overall influencing effort.

You will also need to be able to negotiate within a complex networked organisation and across coalitions to ensure that Oxfam affiliates worldwide engage in and deliver on Somalia influencing work.

The Person
You need exceptional leadership and management skills, experience of working in a complex and high pressured environment, outstanding analytical ability, and proven experience of working at a senior strategic level to ensure high performing teams deliver impact.

You must be a highly motivated self starter, with excellent negotiation and diplomatic skills, as well as a visionary, able to lead teams, including those outside your direct management to a common goal.
