About CHMP
CHMP is an international non-for-profit pharmaceutical NGO registered in Kenya whose scope is supply of quality assured medicines and medical materials to Non-governmental humanitarian bodies, government purchase centers and foreign missions.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CHMP Board, you will join and lead a respected humanitarian organization and be pivotal in developing the strategic direction of CHMP’s activities and network.
You will be responsible for overseeing development of an integrated strategy with the Board and translating that for the business. You will also be accountable for business development, strategic asset management, regulation, human resources management.
About the Person
We are seeking an influential and motivated leader who has successfully developed and achieved the strategic objectives of a similar size organization. You will have a strong understanding of a regulated business environment, significant experience across strategic asset management and be familiar with reporting and interacting with Directors.
You will have previously led similar teams of experienced professionals and have a proven track record of achieving performance targets in a customer centric and competitive environment.
You will have an extensive experience on business management with knowledge in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, procurement and stock management strategy.
You will have experience in Africa, preferably in an English speaking country. Ideally you will have experience with the humanitarian and/or pharmaceutical sectors.
You are fluent in English (French would be added advantage).
You are able to travel in foreign countries such as, but not limited to, DRC, South Sudan, etc.
Activities / Core functions
Management Strategic planning and resources deployment:
• Coordinating activities between the different departments of CHMP Kenya.
• Defining and developing strategic activities and submitting them to the board for approval
• Defining operation course, strategic plans and objectives.
• Overseeing overall policies and follow-up activities including: procurement strategy, management of stock, marketing strategy.
• Ensuring compliance of standard procedures
• Any other duties as assigned
Administration and Human resources:
• Administrative follow-up on CHMP Activities (Legal issues + HR)
• Defining and managing CHMP Kenya salary guidelines.
• Conducting staff appraisals
• Analyzing training needs and approving subsequent training plan
Finance:
• Preparing overall budget and submit it to the board for approval
• Monthly and annually accounts verification
• Regular follow-up and analysis on financial position
• Authorizing expenses
• Authenticating the exchange rates
• Investments planning
• Defining cost recovery policies
CHMP representative:
• Official CHMP representative to international institutions, donors, Kenyan authorities and financial institutions
• Regular following on relations with partner NGOs and other humanitarian community
• Defining communication and marketing strategies as well as monitoring and evaluating their effectiveness.
• Upholding CHMP vision as an NGO promoting access to quality generic drugs
• Promoting CHMP services and products
