Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Procurement Officer is responsible to the Accounting Officers of Parliament through the Director of Finance and Accounting Services and the Director General of the Parliamentary Joint Services for advice on supplies management and administration.
Duties and responsibilities involve:
formulation of polices and regulations for efficient management of procurement services in the Parliamentary Service;
advising departments on statutory requirements and storage, handling and distribution of supply materials; and
overall administration and management of supplies in the Parliamentary Service
Requirements for appointment:
The successful candidate shall be a person who –
has served as Principal Procurement Officer for 3 years in the public sector or in an equivalent position in the private sector.
is in possession of a Bachelors degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent
is in possession of a relevant Masters degree
is in possession of a post graduate diploma in procurement/supplies management
has demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, co-ordination and organization capabilities at top management level.
