Clinical Services Specialist – Nairobi – Christian Health Association of Kenya

Responsibilities:
Programmatic
The holder of the position will be responsible for implementation of the HIV/AIDS/TB/eMTCT, RMNCH/FP activities in two sub counties in Nairobi.

S/he will be required to:
Offer technical support to the project health facilities and communities in the area of coverage
Develop short term work plans and budgets for the activities to be undertaken in the health facilities and communities in the area of coverage
Support the county health facilities and staff to implement HIV/AIDS/TB, RMNCH/FP, nutrition and WASH activities and to improve the quality of care and standards of the HIV/AIDS/TB/RMNCH/FP services
Support and work with the RMNCH/FP project officers to undertake planned activities and improve the quality of RMNCH/FP care and services within the coverage areas
Working with the nutrition lead, ensure that assessments, care and support systems in the area of coverage are actualized for all eligible clients
Work with the laboratory lead to ensure that all laboratory support services and empowerment are offered to the facilities and staff to ensure good outcomes in treatment and care
Working with M&E Technical Advisor ensure that M&E support systems are in place to ensure data and information flow is efficient and informs programmatic and service delivery decision making and also ensure that programme reports are timely, accurate, and informative and comply with both donor and county specifications

People
The position is responsible for the four project implementation teams with a total of four doctors, four M&E program officers and four social support and linkage officers.
They will backed up by one laboratory services and technology technician and one nutrition and WASH officer.
The holder of the position will offer technical guidance and supervise the team to ensure that they deliver on CHAK’s mandate.

Financial responsibilities
The position will be responsible for planning and budget making.
S/he will authorize costs arising out project activity implementation.
He will ensure that staff account for the project implementation financial expenditure on time.
Partnerships and networking
The position is responsible for representing both AFYA Jijini and CHAK in county and national forums. This includes representation at meetings, conferences and partnerships at both community, county and national level.

Qualifications.
Must be a qualified Medical doctor
Other qualifications:
Master of Public Health
Master Medicine /OBGY
Qualifications in HIV/AIDS/TB is an additional advantage

Experience
At least five years of technical leadership in a large HIV/AIDS/TB and RMNCH/PF project
Minimum of five years of programmatic leadership in large projects including HIV/AIDS, TB and RMNCH/FP
Has hands on experience in HIV/AIDS /TB and RMNCH/FP
Hands on experience in mentorship, on‐the‐job‐training (OJT) and supportive supervision
Hands on experience in work programme and budgeting of similar projects
Fully acquainted with MOH data collection and reporting tools
Demonstrable experience in clinical data analysis for feedback and for improvement of services
Proficient in word, excel, PPP, graphics, and other basic operating systems
Personal attributes
Self‐driven
Eye for detail
Can work in challenging circumstances including slum areas, and for long hours
