Busara Center for Behavioral Economics is a research organization that seeks to improve the understanding of how people living in poverty make decisions and to leverage that knowledge to produce better social outcomes.
It enables researchers to conduct rigorous laboratory-based studies in behavioral economics in a developing country and applying the outcomes of research to real-world problems.This research will be working with the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics and Bridge International Academies to assess the effectiveness and impact of their unique school curriculum.
Field Officers will be working with schools nationwide to assess and measure student performance, teacher motivation, and effects of education on family livelihoods.
The research study will be conducted in 15-20 counties across Kenya and will require significant travel. Working outside of regular business hours (in the morning or in the evening) will sometimes be necessary.
As a Field Officer, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
Must work well within a fast-paced team to meet high-pressure daily and weekly deadlines
Facilitate pre-primary education programs and initiatives including ECD
Conduct exams and individual surveys with children in the ECD age range
Conducting school community consultative meetings
Sensitize community to universal primary education
Job Requirements:
Required
A minimum of a diploma/degree is required
Must have at least 2 years’ experience working with ECD / Standard 1 age students
Must have excellent organization and time management skills
Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to balance multiple tasks at once
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity
Outgoing, energetic and friendly personality who is able to manage stress well
Must be comfortable receiving detailed feedback in order to improve performance
