Job Duties
Participate on the merchandising leadership team (FSLT) by contributing strategic feedback and ideas for improving procedures and processes
Provide general leadership to the merchandising organization by participating on the FSLT, setting a good example, and being an overall positive influencer
Interview and hire new FSRs (Field Sales Representatives) as positions open up
Work with NSD (National Sales Director) to set annual OGSMs (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) for each FSR on regional team
Track and manage the performance of each FSR on regional team including conducting the mid-year and year-end performance evaluations as well as implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs- Performance Improvement Plans) as necessary
Conduct regular in-market ride alongs 1-2 times per quarter with each FSR on team to help coach and evaluate performance
Plan and execute regional priorities that include product rollouts, store resets, marketing promotion campaigns, retail ad promotions, trade shows, etc.
Work closely with the national and regional sales directors to ensure that account specific priorities are being achieved
Ensure the completion of daily and weekly reports
Manage and approve team expenses
Build strategic relationships with key buying influences within region such as produce specialists, regional/district managers, and directors
Participate in the planning and execution of the annual National Merchandising Conference as necessary
Perform small sales account management as necessary.

Required Skills And Abilities
Ability to drive results and perform above expectation for a minimum of 24 consecutive months
Proven demonstration of an ability to lead and direct others
Proven demonstration of an ability to continually raise expectations for self and peers
Ability to work with key buying influences to produce incremental results on a consistent basis
Ability to analyze and leverage IRI (Information Resources, Inc.) and retail scan data
Member of the field sales training team
Recognized as a distinct leader within the merchandising organization
Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and listening
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Two to three years of applicable experience within the merchandising organization
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
