Human Resources Manager – Nairobi – Adept Systems

The Successful candidate will manage and provide leadership to the human resources matters of the organization.

Key responsibilities:
Formulating HR strategies in line with the company’s strategic plan.
Be involved in the development of HR Policies, practices and procedures at group level. Support the business aims of the company and ensure compliance with the labour laws, FLO (Fair Trade) and MPS audit standards
Interface with trade union and ensure existence of constructive Industrial climate; study legislation, arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
Advise management on policy matters like equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment and recommend changes.
Be involved in manpower planning: ensure timely recruitment and staffing of required level and quality of staff; plan and conduct new staff recruitment, induction and retention programmes.
Develop and administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems aimed at increasing productivity in the company.
Maintain and develop HR systems and processes to achieve effective management of people. support performance management and monitoring; competency building; compensation and benefit programs; among others
Administration of staff satisfaction surveys; preparation of staff contracts; handling disciplinary cases; maintenance of accurate personnel files and management of leave.
Ensure a motivational climate in the company, including adequate opportunities for career growth and development by carrying out regular training need assessment and developing appropriate training programs in conjunction with management
Develop and manage staff grievance procedures.
Administration of staff medical scheme and insurance.
Providing the most up-to-date information on the current developments and best practices in the HR field.
Represent the company in HR forums.
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Education, skills and competencies
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or social sciences or related course ; Masters will be an added advantage
At least 5 years experience in an HR generalist managerial role
Post Graduate Diploma In human resources
Experience in strategic management an added advantage.
Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures
Hands on in managing the department
An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Good experience in job descriptions, Performance review methods and techniques; staff training, development and recognition
Active listening skills; Time management
Excellent negotiation skills and decision making
High sense of confidentiality; good organisation and planning skills; flexible and high level of tolerance.
Strong influencing skills; proven people management skills
Strong report writing and presentation skills
Self-driven and results oriented
