Overview
Kilifi plantations Ltd is one of the leading agricultural farms in Kenya located within Kilifi County. Kilifi Plantations was established in 1920 as a sisal plantation. It was privately bought in 1963 and today remains an ongoing agricultural business. Currently Kilifi Plantations consist of a leading national dairy herd milking 400 animals daily producing 3,000 litres a day. The farm also produces 350 tonnes annually of sisal fibre of export quality.
PURPOSE:
Ensure that all required operating procedures in the Dairy Section are adhered to and that it runs smoothly.
The Role:
1. Ensure all testing reagents are in place. Liaise with supervisor as well as the procurement team for purchase.
2. Perform appropriate testing to ensure quality finished products.
3. Make all necessary recordings after every test.
4. Ensure care is observed at all times when receiving milk for cooling to avoid contamination and spillage.
5. Ensure that the cooling plant is functioning at its best, well maintained and cleaned as per the standards.
6. Ensure proper coordination of activities at the cooling / pasteurizing section to avoid any cases of milk sourage and pilferage.
7. Ensure the procedures set for milk issuance within and outside the company are adhered to at all times.
8. Ensure all milk is pasteurized and stored at the right temperature.
9. Making sure that all equipment are clean and in good working order.
10. Disposing of chemicals and waste products in a safe way.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Dairy or Food Science.
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience working in a food laboratory environment (dairy/milk lab experience preferred).

Salary details
The monthly salary will be Ksh18,000. Housing will also be provided.
