Key Responsibilities
Livestock Feed Management – Coordinate and manage the feed, fodder and pasture for the entire farm.
Manage and oversee the health of all livestock, prevent health problems and attend to any sick livestock.
Develop and maintain feed formulation.
Ensure that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets.
Organize maintenance /repair of farm property, equipment and machinery.
Maintain quality control and production records.
Ensure compliance with government regulations on health and safety standards of all livestock products and facilities.
Hire, train and supervise workers engaged in planting, cultivating, irrigating, harvesting, and marketing crops, or in raising livestock.
Monitor pasture & grazing land use to ensure that livestock are properly fed & conservation methods, such as rotational grazing, are implemented.
Develop work schedules and establish procedures that ensure the smooth running of the farm.
Interpret Genetic data and advises management and customers regarding breeding, brooding, feeding, and sanitation practices.
Arrange for sale of livestock.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Livestock Production and Management, Animal care or farming.
Minimum 5years hands on experience with Dairy cattle and general livestock management in Large Farms.
Commercial experience in local and international Livestock Markets.
Must have passion for animals.
Good knowledge of animal husbandry, feed/fodder and pasture management.
