Job Summary
UNTAPPED Water Limited Kenya provides lease financing and technical services to help local operators deploy PAYGO water systems and improve last mile delivery of safe water in East Africa for water utilities, water entrepreneurs and real estate developers. We are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join our expanding team in Kenya. This is a key management and leadership role which will oversee all critical on-going projects and make sure that they are properly executed. The Operations Manager will also work closely with business development teams to ensure technical planning and delivery to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Provide inspired leadership and coordination for all project teams
● Be the one accountable and responsible for the operational success of a project
● Coordinate the logistics (import, customs clearance, transportation) of water assets (meters, ATMs)
● Coordinate the installation of the water assets as per standard procedures and make sure it works
● Train customer teams on the water asset maintenance and repair
● Coordinate and execute level 2 support for water asset and software
● Recruit local support, maintenance and repair team for specific water project
● Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures.
● Oversee project budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
● Work with senior stakeholders at partner companies (utilities, government).
● Ensure all project legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
Operations Manager Requirements and Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sciences, management area of speciality and previous experience in the water sector preferred (1-4 years)
● Shows experience in managing on the ground project and operational teams
● Show experience in coordination and follow-up many different topics at the same time
