Job Description**
PAD is seeking a full-time, visionary Impact Specialist to develop, manage, and implement
PAD’s monitoring and evaluation system. The Impact Specialist will work closely with PAD’s Executive Director but collaborate across the organization as the primary person directly responsible for consolidating PAD’s current evaluation tools, building new ones, conducting data analysis, and providing strategic recommendations. The ideal candidate must be self- motivated, entrepreneurial, and passionate about the chance to make a difference in the early stages of a growing organization, with very strong interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. The duration of the contract will be for one year with possible extension pending successful implementation.
Roles and Responsibilities**
Please note other responsibilities may be required based upon the growth of PAD.
• Consolidate and build PAD’s indicator framework, including business growth and community leadership indicators, internal performance indicators for the organization, and indicators for implementation of grants and activities
• Using a theory of change approach, develop a list of assumptions and design experiments in close collaboration with the programs team to test them
• Develop and implement systems to track monthly program data and make strategic recommendations to shift programs
• Develop and implement improved PAD baseline, mid-term, and end-term surveys
• Lead in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting of results to ensure lessons learned and drive PAD’s strategy
• Coordinate PAD’s M&E to ensure timely collection, processing, and reporting
• Lead in ensuring data quality for PAD indicators by carrying out routine assessments and reviews of collected information
• Build the capacity of the PAD team and community members on measuring progress, learning from joint successes and failures in creative ways that contribute to building a body of knowledge unique to the building of grassroots youth social enterprise in Kenya.
• Assist PAD to implement Lean methodologies across the organization
• Research on relevant management, psychology, and behavioral economics literature to inform practice.
• Foster a culture of openness, learning, collaboration and innovation across the organization
Qualifications**
PAD is looking for candidates who are experienced, proactive, and passionate about PAD’s
mission, and who demonstrate the flexibility to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Specific qualifications include:
• Must have 5-10 years experience in a similar position building M&E systems, developing survey tools, and synthesizing results into strategic recommendations. Masters degree in
a relevant subject (management, economics, statistics, etc.) preferred.
• Must be familiar with the end-to-end development of M&E systems (including but not limited to theory of change workshops, indicator frameworks, creation of survey evaluation tools, data analysis, and strategic recommendations)
• Competency in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including proficiency in relevant statistical analysis software
• Understanding of a “theory of change” approach to monitoring and evaluation
• Preference to those eager to adapt Lean Start-Up methodologies and design thinking to non-profits
• Experience working with youth and entrepreneurship programs a preference
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Swahili a plus)
