Job Summary:
• Helps board members, the program director, staff and volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit charitable gifts.
• Stays informed of grant opportunities in Kenya and plays a lead role in developing proposals.
• Develops and maintains a grants calendar that keeps track of deadlines for grants and reports.
• Draws up periodic reports for well-wishers and donors that communicate the results of monitoring and evaluation, including an annual report.
• Works with staff to ensure the smooth use of monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Updates Jitegemee’s Twitter and Facebook with photos and stories about the children in the program. Prepares updates for the website.
• Assists the staff and board to implement fundraising campaigns through Mpesa.
• Assists the program director in scheduling meetings with the local board and supporting the local board in their duties.
• Assists the program director in responding to requests for information, photographs and written reports about the program.

• Able to avoids conflicts of interest
• Passionate about providing disadvantaged youth opportunities to succeed
• Excellent writing and communication skills
Qualifications
• A bachelors degree
• Minimum of 3 years nonprofit management experience
• Fundraising experience in a professional position preferred
• Demonstrated experience and confidence in asking people to contribute time and money
• Familiarity with computer systems
• Strong written and oral communication skills with an enthusiasm for writing
• Ability to effectively utilize social media, including Twitter and Facebook
• Fluency in English and Swahili. Kikamba is preferred.
• Membership in a professional fundraising association is strongly recommended.
