Recruitment Associate – One Acre Fund – Nairobi, KE

Job Description

Every year we receive tens of thousands of applications, and we are seeking an HR or talent acquisition professional with excellent organizational and people skills to help lead the team.
The Recruitment Associate will join our Global Recruitment Team and report to our Candidate Experience Manager.

Example Duties Include
Directly manage 8-12 high value and senior candidate pipelines:
Application screening: Oversee candidate screening and selection process from the review of applications through the interview process. One Acre Fund seeks to hire international development professionals of the highest caliber, and application screening is a vital step in the hiring process.
Candidate database management: Using our Applicant Tracking System and other tools, track applicant process from application to hire.
Candidate Communication and Support: Our hiring process is rigorous and requires a number of steps, including multiple interviews and exercises. Throughout, the Recruitment Associate should provide excellent customer service and support to all candidates.
Hiring Manager Support: Assist Hiring Managers with creating interview materials, train them to use our Recruitment platforms and best practices, and provide other support as requested.
Recruiting special projects: The Recruitment Associate will play an integral part in ensuring our candidate experience and talent search is effective, efficient, and would be called on to come up with innovative strategies to recruit, grow, and retain staff using our objectives and key results to drive the work.Some examples of projects are:
Improving candidate experience communication: Audit all candidate communication materials to ensure they are clear, inclusive, and informative.
Revamping Hiring Manager trainings: Review and update Hiring Manager trainings so they are relevant and we are continuing to offer a fair and unbiased interview process to all candidates.
Reducing time to hire: Use data to better understand how we can reduce the time it takes to hire a candidate and fill a position, improving our candidate experience and increasing impact for the organization.
People Management: The Recruitment Associate will take on management of 2-3 Recruiters covering a portion of our operations. The management includes:
mentoring Recruiters to grow professionally by providing frequent feedback, guidance, and will be expected to write and deliver bi-annual performance evaluations
monitoring KPIs and driving team performance
Interviewing: Conduct interviews for your own roles, and other roles, at One Acre Fund. Also, observe direct reports’ interviews on a monthly basis to ensure interview quality and consistency.
Outreach activities: The Recruitment Associate will support One Acre Fund’s recruiting initiatives by cultivating strategic relationships for proactive recruitment as well as represent One Acre Fund at various recruiting events in the region.This also includes leading our employee referral program in-country.

Qualifications
We are looking for an exceptional professionals with 2-5 years experience to serve in a position that combines project management and people management for global recruitment in a fast-paced social enterprise. Successful candidates will have the following qualifications and key achievements to highlight outcomes in their work:
Strong people management skills, prior people management experience required, remote management experience a big plus.
Innovative mindset: constantly curious about ways to think creatively and create effective and efficient processes.
Internal drive: the Recruitment Associate will often work without much supervision and must be a self-starter who can proactively complete tasks without continuous oversight.
Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail: the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
Superior spoken and written English fluency, cross-cultural communication skills: The Recruitment Associate will have daily contact with our candidates from around the world and diverse Hiring Managers and should be able to engage with them in a friendly and professional way.
The ability to multi-task while effectively prioritizing: The routine tasks of the Recruitment Associate will often have non-flexible deadlines.
A humble approach to service: We are looking for passionate professionals who combine strong leadership skills with good humor, patience, and humility.
Typing speed of 40 words per minute or better.
Familiarity or expertise in Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System is a plus.
Prior experience as a Recruiter, talent acquisition specialist or similar is helpful but not required.
Language: English required; French or Swahili a plus.
