Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights Specialist for its Kenya programme.
Purpose of the role: Responsible for overseeing the success of the Mara Kenya Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) project through ensuring that all activities are implemented as required and deliverables are met. S/he will coordinate, supervise and monitor progress of the project team to ensure quality work is delivered. S/he will participate in resource mobilisation for further development of SRHR opportunities and projects across all AAH-I country programmes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate planning and implementation of the SRHR project including logistics, staffing and overall execution of the study.
Secure the required approvals for the project from relevant institutions and government ministries and facilities selected to participate in the study.
Participate in the recruitment of required field staff and carry out, in collaboration with Advancing Health Alliance, their training.
Supervise and manage field staff; ensure activities are planned, implemented and coordinated within the overall Country programme strategy and partner guidelines.
Coordinate communication with facilities and other institutions during the course of the project to foster a supportive environment and to ensure the project proceeds as planned.
Ensure the prudent management of resources to achieve the desired results.
Coordinate the preparation of all necessary progress and other project reports including contributing to presentation and publication of findings.
Participate in proposal development and other resource mobilization activities to further grow the Action Africa Help (AAH) Kenya research program and expand its funding sources.
Carry out other duties as delegated by the Country Program Manager.
Professional qualifications
A first degree in Social Sciences/Development studies or equivalent.
Masters’ degree in Public Health or other relevant qualification.
At least 5 years’ experience in health project management.
Minimum relevant experience required
Experience in women’s health research, and sexual reproductive health & rights.
Experience with preparing a proof-of-concept document and value proposition for scaling up projects
