Role Purpose: Reporting to the Team Leader, the SEM coordinates and organises stakeholders’ engagement forums, and provides political analysis input into programme assessment and design.
The SEM will ensure the SUED programme is locally-owned and has support from the National and County stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a holistic Stakeholder engagement plan and a stakeholder prioritisation matrix for the SUED programme
Establish a stakeholders’ map by identifying all stakeholders, indicating their expectations and managing towards their expectations.
Develop and manage strong relationships with the county government, private sector participants and CSOs from the inception stage of the project to ensure that the SUED programme has local ownership and support
Establish an effective communication strategy to effectively implement the programme.
Establish knowledge transfer communication processes, to document and share key findings and best practices.
Create communities of practice to enable best practices across the programme.
Desired Competencies and Experience
A relevant Bachelor’s degree
Strong intellectual capacity and an impressive track-record in strategic stakeholder engagement spanning government, regulators, business and NGOs/CSOs groups
Ability to distill complex issues into succinct messages and present confidently to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated understanding of the devolution of functions of national vs county governments and working experience with county government
Demonstrated experience leading a public initiative at either national or county level
Understanding of the political economy within the country, be culturally well networked and energetic
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
