The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is the world’s largest non-governmental organization working in the field of sexual and reproductive health information and services. It has six Regional Offices, (Western Hemisphere based New York, East and South East Asia and Oceania Region in Malaysia, Arab World Region in Tunis, South Asia Region in India, European Network in Brussels and the Africa Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya). The international secretariat is in London, UK.
IPPF ARO coordinates 42 country- owned Member Associations (MAs), who have grown into leading CSOs in 42 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. IPPF uses its existing network and partners service delivery channels to disseminate information and improve access to service delivery. The MAs operates through 2,958 clinic based and 8,428 non clinic based outlets.
In 2015, IPPF approved a new the strategic plan spanning the period 2016-2022, with the mission of leading a locally-owned , globally connected civil society movement that provides and enables services, and champions sexual and reproductive health and rights for all, especially the underserved. The strategic plan has four outcomes and two are directly linked to information and services.
To ensure that IPPF and it’s Member Associations (MAs) remain strong and efficient, to consistently deliver high quality sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information and services as well as to champion Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for all, to meet its objectives. IPPF has identified the need to strengthen and intensify Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) in its programmes across the respective countries.
IPPFAR has expressed interest in hiring a consultant to support with the development of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) strategy which will be the pivot in strengthen SBCC programmes across the respective Member Associations of the Africa Region.
1. Purpose
IPPFAR has expressed interest in hiring a consultant to support with the development of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) strategy for the Africa Regional office which will be the pivot in strengthen SBCC programmes across the respective countries.
1. Tasks
2. Provide support to IPPFARO in SBCC programmes by building the capacity of staff (ARO & MA) in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), including development of appropriate strategies, implementation, monitoring and documentation
3. Facilitate the workshop
4. Develop a Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC)
Strategy for IPPFARO for implementation by Member Association
5. Key Deliverables
The consultant will be required to submit to IPPFARO the following;
• An inception report
• Hard and soft copies of the SBCC strategy for ARO and for the specific MA’s
• Hard and soft copies of the SBCC capacity building workshop report.
• Responsibility of IPPFARO
• Arrange for training logistics including venue etc.
• Invite participants from MAs for the workshop.

The duration of the consultation will be of 20 days starting 10th September to 30th September 2016, as per the table provided below;
