Supply Chain Manager – Nairobi – Adept Systems

Key Purpose: Ensure development and implementation of effective and efficient Supply Chain operations to achieve business objectives, focusing on ensuring reliable (assured) supply at the right quality and containing distribution costs.

They will be responsible for local distribution / logistics, international logistics, demand and supply planning as well as design and implementation of supply chain systems.

Responsibilities
Liaison with international distributors and suppliers
Manage the performance of the distribution service provider to achieve best in class levels of on time in full delivery error free, ensure quality standards are met
Continuously improve the stock availability and delivery experience, to ensure reliable, assured supply
Manage quality standards and optimal prices for locally supplied items
Actively manage supplier delivery performance
Manage/contain the cost of distribution logistics by thoroughly understanding the cost drivers of logistics and negotiating effectively
Manage demand and supply planning with suppliers
Ensure all documentation and records are well maintained for knowledge building/retention and audit purposes.
Support the Product Development Pipeline
Negotiate with international freight forwarders and agents, as well as foreign product suppliers to secure effective, sustainable low cost imports
Provide guidance to other department managers on total landed costs estimates and develop assessment models on how to manage to this.

This position will suit an individual with:
Bachelors Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain related field
Minimum 5 years in a similar role preferably in the hospitality or FMCG industries.
Knowledge and experience with import procedures and customs regulations, including tariffs, anti- dumping duties/rules, import restrictions and requirements.
Knowledge and experience in inventory management and replenishment
Proven ability to source and negotiate local logistics and international freight forwarding services
Proven record in delivering sustainable logistics benefits
High numeracy skills with the ability to build complex models including distribution/logistics cost models and total landed cost models for imports
