Responsibilities (by the level of awesomeness)
1 The ‘ok’
− Rely on brand guidelines to create elements and visual imagery for software products,
− Enforce design guidelines and manage design spec documents including conceptual models, sketches, process flow diagrams, wireframes, visual design mockups, page schematics, and interactive prototypes.
2 The champs
− Spearhead the incorporation user research methodologies into the product design and development lifecycles,
− Conduct workshops & brainstorming sessions with internal team members and stakeholders after gathering external requirements to create concepts and strategy,
− Prepare design plans and communicate design ideas through user flows, process flows, site maps, wireframes and high fidelity prototypes for concepts,
− Develop the full stack of UX deliverables, from personas to information architecture and interaction design, to UI design and wireframes, as well as design systems,
− Care about the UI content and copy by thinking about messaging, descriptions, calls-to-actions,
− Conduct user testing to optimize software products while continually tailoring experiences to fit the end user.
3 The legendary
− Translate user needs into effective, valuable solutions and transform an idea into a wellstructured, efficient, user experience,
− Conceptualize new design solutions, make them real through prototypes, write code to implement them into actual living and breathing products,
− Provide effective thought leadership by selling concepts to product owners and business leaders while inspiring in-house teams to do their best work and strive for a higher standard.
Requirements (Know your stuff, basically)
You don’t need a fancy education or a highbrow university degree. Let your distinction show in the quality of work. What we look at is proven work experience and the ability or desire to actually do the work needed to get from a concept to the final product
Solid grasp of User Experience research techniques/methods,
− Proficiency in visual design software including Photoshop, Illustrator and prototyping tools like Adobe
XD, Figma, sketch, Axure etc.,
− Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, (SCSS), JavaScript, and various content management systems,
− Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript. A good understanding of SEO wouldn’t hurt,
− Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies,
− Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and responsiveness across various devices,
− Ability to take art direction and excellent visual design skills,
− Openness to new ideas, adaptability, and willingness to learn,
− Be fun and have fun doing cool work.
