Request for Proposals (RFP) No. SCI/K/2015/ITT-W001 – SCUS on WASH Randomized Controlled Trial on the effects of promoting hand-washing with soap to improve maternal hand-washing behaviour during the neonatal period.

The intervention area is Igembe North and Igembe Central sub-counties in Meru County, Kenya. This is a rural area about 250 km northeast of Nairobi, Kenya.

The intervention will take place at all government funded (public) antenatal care facilities in these areas.

Save the Children International (SCI) – Kenya Programme invites applications from qualified firms / organizations or individual to conduct the study.

Based on the selection criteria set forth in the RFP, a contract will be issued to a firm / organization or individual for a period of 12 months.

It is expected that the SCI will award this contract by 30th June 2015.

Interested firm/organizations must be currently registered in Kenya to be considered.

A firm/organization or individual interested can download bid documents from kenya.tenders@savethechildren.org starting today until 15th June 2015.

Completed bid documents should be dropped to Save the Children tender box at Kenya Country Office Located off School lane in Westlands along Matundu Close.

Please note that SCI does not Charge fees for the RFP documents.

The proposals must be returned in a sealed envelope marked as directed in the RFP.

We will require full completion of the documentation for the proposal to be regarded as compliant.

Complete proposal must be received at the address above not later than 12:00pm Kenya time 16th June 2015 (“the Closing Date”).

Failure to meet the Closing Date may result in the proposal being void.

Returned proposal must remain valid for consideration for a period of not less than 90 days from the closing date.

SCI is under no obligation to award the contract to the lowest bidder.
