Our client Hotpoint Appliances Ltd has been around since 1984 and distributes some of the leading global brand such as LG Electronics, Westpoint, Ariston and Kenwood.
The company is quickly expanding its operations throughout Kenya and is now one of the region’s largest retailers and wholesalers of consumer electronics and entertainment products.
Key Purpose: The Product Manager will be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including but not limited to: conducting market research and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with various teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Responsibilities
Ensure sales and market share targets are met
Have full product knowledge of assigned product categories
Train the sales team as well as the dealers and salesmen in the market
Ensure sales strategies are in place to ensure sales growth targets are hit
Ensure availability of spare parts via communication with suppliers
Analyze market data for all these products – generate and present reports on the same
Maintain and enhance relationships with dealers
Keep updated on all competitor information
Forecast quantities for the assigned categories and ensure projections are up to date
Continuously evaluate and enhance the product line up
Implement sales promotions and marketing activities based on approved marketing plan
Any other duties as may be assigned by superior
Resolve any other issues pertaining to the assigned category
Abide by company procedures and policy
Requirements
Bachelors degree in marketing or a related qualification, Masters qualification will be nice to have
Over 5 years experience in sales
Previous experience in a product management role is an added advantage
Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
Excellent leadership skills
Organizational, research and time-management skills
Technology savvy
Business acumen
