Covid 19 Nursing Team Supervisor – Medecins Sans Frontieres – Nairobi

Objective of the Position:
Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care and the development of the plan of action.
These include but are not limited to:
Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as a nurse or anesthetist, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience
Cultivate a close collaboration with Team Lead for Covid HDU, Deputy Matron and Matron in order to achieve implementaion of best practice activities, training, stock management, and HR requirements
Supervise the overall flow of patients to COVID-19 facilities in close collaboration with the NAM/MTL
Support teams of “regular project” regarding COVID-19 and other related activities when needed.
Check all administrative procedures related to patients follow up are correctly filled and filed; ensure that admission and discharge guidelines are followed
Prepare medical orders and identify nonmedical medical support needs
Ensure an efficient pharmacy and medical equipment management
Organise and coordinate the activities of COVID-19 teams (weekly schedule, annual leave, absences, communicate with admin department all relevant information
Provide general support to the clinical team at the screening/triage area where needed
In collaboration with the doctor(s), ensure that all medical COVID-19 protocols are implemented and followed
Ensure that all diagnostic services (lab & others) are available according to MSF guidelines and good quality standards
Supervise the data collection (MSF line list) and contribute to its interpretation
Supervise that all IPC measures are followed according to MSF guidelines

Requirements:
Education
Essential: Diploma in Nursing, Degree is an added advantage
Must be registered with Nursing Council and have a valid practising License
Experience
Essential: at least 2 years of previous experience. Previous experience working with MSF or other NGO’s and in developing countries is desirable.
Experience working in a COVID set up is an added advantage.
Language
Fluency in English and Kiswahili is a must
Knowledge
Computer literacy, all-round technical understanding
Competencies
