Scope
We are seeking to hire an Ultrasound Sonographer / Radiographer to work in our Medical clinic located at Kenya Medical Association Center (KMA), Nairobi.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sonographer / Radiographer will primarily be responsible for providing quality ultrasound services to our clients, reviewing and analyzing reports and producing the same for physician review.
Responsibilities
The position of Sonographer / Radiographer will include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:
Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients and answering any questions they may have.
Maintaining the ultrasound equipment and maintaining the room in which the procedure takes place.
Performing the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle/section that must be assessed and ensuring the images are of best quality.
Maintaining patient’s records and adding medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure if necessary.
Perform all required diagnostic ultrasound procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
Practice and maintain standard precautions and infection control policy standards
Assist with patient scheduling, registration and preparation required prior to examination
Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
Routinely prepare high quality imaging examinations for interpretation by the radiologist
Consult with reporting radiologist and specialists on imaging results
Record all machine output, scans completed and payments received on a daily basis
Effectively use picture archiving and radiological information systems
Comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, the company’s policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.
Higher Diploma in Ultrasound.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in sonography/ultrasound
Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environment
A good understanding of community dynamics. Knowledge and familiarity with low-income urban areas of Nairobi.
