Integrity Action is looking for an organised, enthusiastic person to work as a programme coordinator for a period of at least 3 months in the office of our partner in Nairobi, the National Taxpayers Association.
You would be working with the Community Integrity Building (CIB) programme, Integrity Education Network (IEN) and Network for Integrity in Reconstruction (NIR).
The Network for Integrity in Reconstruction (NIR) supports civil society organisations in post-war settings (including Afghanistan, DRC, South Sudan, Kenya, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Liberia and Sierra Leone) to mobilise and train communities to monitor reconstruction programmes and advocate for greater accountability and public participation in post-war reconstruction. This process of inclusion and accountability to post-war citizens reduces both corruption and the risk of return to violence.
The Integrity Education Network (IEN) is the one of the world’s largest and fastest growing network with 454 academic, training and NGO institutions committed to educating students and training public officials on how to build integrity and fight corruption.
The Programme Coordinator will contribute to the work of CIB, IEN and NIR by assisting with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of CIB and IEN programme activities with a focus on Kenya and the other African focused countries. Key tasks of this position will include:
Programme Implementation:
Support NTA to improve the quality of project monitoring and improve the problems resolved under their programmes
Attend relevant meetings and trainings, supporting NTA in training of monitors and represent Integrity Action and our approach in other relevant trainings
Assist with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of IEN and CIB programme activities in Kenya
Look out for new opportunities in Kenya to scale up our programme, identify potential partners and funding opportunities
Support the input of project information onto our online monitoring tool – Development Check (following training on the tool)
Provide information for blog posts based on activities within Kenya
Represent Integrity Action on the Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS)
Review and comment on NTA’s narrative and financial reports based on their programme activities
Research and write case studies to capture the impact our partners programmes have had in Kenya, and more widely in our African countries
Represent Integrity Action and write reports on external meetings within Kenya to inform Integrity Action programmes.
Liaise with academics and other NGOs working in a similar field to inform the IEN and CIB programmes and share findings across relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Degree in political science, development studies, public administration, or other relevant field; advanced degree preferable.
Experience in working and collaborating with civil society organisations and international organisations.
Ability to analyse data efficiently and concisely report findings to management, partners and external stakeholders.
Fluency in English – both written and oral communication; working knowledge of French and Swahili highly desirable.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Excel, etc).
Available for travel across Africa if required
Working knowledge of issues in integrity and governance and an interest in post-conflict and development issues.
Fast learner, self-driven, open to new ideas and hardworking.
Team working skills and ability to work independently.
