Job Purpose: The Security Officer will be responsible for delivering round the clock security and safety of all Society assets including all property and equipment as well as provide safety to the members, staff and visitors within the Society premises.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulate and maintain a security strategy that supports the Society’s vision and Mission
Development and implementation of security policies and procedures and ensure compliance of the same
In liaison with Head of operations, determine and select appropriate security systems and manage security installations where and when required
Orient all Society’s staff on security procedures and conduct security awareness programs
Take a leadership role during crises, disasters and/or other emergencies to ensure safety of all members, visitors and staff;
Lead investigations on all incidents of a security nature, file reports and liaise with the relevant security agents.
Detect and report frauds, unlawful acts and coordinate criminal investigations on behalf of the SACCO with Government agencies and other Stakeholders.
Work closely with Company Secretary to manage criminal court cases that touch on the Society.
Person Specifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Security Management, Criminal Justice, Public Administration or Security related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in managing CCTV and Coordinating alarm and guarding responses.
Industry certifications and expertise in Security related disciplines are an added advantage.
Demonstrated at least 2 years’ experience in criminal investigations especially in a financial institution.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and to manage ambiguity, strong negotiator, facilitator and consensus builder with high integrity and energy.
