Retail Operations Manager – Nairobi – Furniture Industry

Responsibilities:
Employee Management
Making sure that all stores under his or her leadership are staffed correctly at all times
Be able to accurately estimate the needs of each branch and work with the store’s management to solve conflicts,
Make sure that scheduling needs are met and assist in improving employee performance and retention.
Periodic site visits to check employee performance and gauge customer satisfaction.
Motivate and inspire staff supervised through effective use of the performance management process, regular coaching and enthusiastic communication
Regularly monitor and coach staff under him on esp. security, and delivery team on the importance of providing exceptional service.

Inventory Analysis
Able to forecast sales figures and inventory requirements for each location
Periodic inventory analysis for each store and using that analysis coupled with sales figures to determine the optimal stock levels
Sales Management
Manage the store merchandise inventory to support sales plan achievement.
Partner with the sales team by fulfilling product requests and point sales quickly and accurately to close sales

Cost Management
Constantly review store sales numbers, cost of inventory, operational expenses and inventory loss.
Develop a plan to suggest to management how each branch could change in order to maximize profits and reduce loss at the store level.

General Duties
Lead and ensure accurate budgeting, inventory and expense control, accurate record retention, audit compliance and implementation and adherence to all processes and procedures.
Responsible for creating and maintaining an aligned and positive work environment amongst all store employees.
Security
Liaise with Security to ensure a safe shopping environment, proper missing asset handling retail controls check list, and provide feedback to store leadership
Customer service
Lead and champion team on executing consistent and superior sales and service delivery to increase and retain customer loyalty
Capture meaningful customer data for the purposes of connecting with the client, building relationships, and personalizing future client development opportunities.
Partner with branch teams to resolve customer service issues in a prompt and gracious manner.
Consistently provide an elevated/exceptional experience in all customer interactions (i.e., including in person interactions, incoming telephone calls and emails) this may include the effective use of gifts where possible.
Manage current Customer base by ensuring we are providing gracious and prompt after sales service.
Act as a Store Ambassador and transact sales when needed.
