Retail Sales Manager – Nairobi – Corporate Staffing Services

Our client has an outstanding career opportunity for a Retails Sales Manager to join their company.

They are a leading internationally recognized design, manufacturing, marketing, sales and after sales Company of Solar Electricity (PV), water heating systems and street lighting.

They recently received additional funding that will help in supporting their operations in Africa.

Job Purpose
Overall responsible for managing Orb Energy’s direct sales through its network of Business Development Executives who work with our partnering micro-finance institutions
Responsible for all retail sales through our branch network
Responsible for recruiting and managing franchisee partners to run our branches and for Business Development Executives
Manage a team of Business Development Executives
Must continuously grow the revenue per branch, while maintaining total control of receivables
Should ensure uniform adherence to the company’s standard operating procedures across all branches

Key Responsibilities
To forecast nationwide retail sales accurately
To close sales in cooperation with the Business Development Executives on a consistent basis and in line with credit and delivery terms
To meet monthly, quarterly, and annual retail revenue targets and grow sales month by month
To identify and map attractive sales areas and plan for sales demos around the country
To manage financing partners and franchisees nationwide at the local level
To provide training to franchisees and financing partners on how to sell, install and service
To ensure complaints and after-sales service issues and repairs are managed in time and to the satisfaction of the customers
To ensure the Business Development Executives are motivated to perform at their best and manage them tightly
Ensure that sales personnel maintain their diaries, and these align with reporting in BITS (Branch IT System)
Ensure that BITS is updated daily by sales personnel on sales calls, prospects, orders, collections, etc.
To report to the Vice President Africa on a daily basis
Ensure business performance reviews are systematically done and implemented
Ensure staff training at HQ, as per HR guidelines
To meet high ethical standards in line with the company culture

Experience and Skills Required
10-15 years of senior managerial experience in sales
Experience in managing and succeeding in direct sales a plus
Proven ability to manage a large field force over a dispersed geography Displays strong, clear training, communication and writing skills
A real self-starter, able to take initiative and operate independently
A leader who knows how to motivate and control a large team
Willing to travel extensively, including into rural areas
Can present himself / herself well and properly represent the company
MBA and engineering degrees both a plus.
